Calypso, perhaps at some indistinct time in the future.
As for the tattoos, I am thinking—okay, she’s a Nymph, right? Which, in the Dragon Raiders project, are essentially Elves. Except more human. Either way, I am trying to play around with different aspects of Nymphs from mythology. What if they weren’t so civilized? What if they were more civilized than anyone else, but also much more sinister than they let on? What if they took advantage of their unearthly beauty to manipulate people? Let’s get some Fey Folk up in here y’all!
Of course, none of that really fits Calypso’s agenda, but I haven’t ruled out anything quite yet.
An idea is - and this comes from a game I finished playing recently - that there are “wild” elves, who are more like the traditional ‘roaming in forests and such’ who the humans think eat babies and all that sort of thing. Then there are “civilized” elves who basically behave like humans with their own little quirks and get treated like second-class citizens. It’s not unheard of for elves of one group to go to the other (through disagreement, banishment, love, etc.)
So with Calypso and the way her story is right now, you could have her leaving her responsibilities with the “wild” nymphs to go to their more “civilized” cousins or something of that nature. You could even play with this for a dual-sided nature of nymphs.
